There were only 42 riders on todays start sheet, they must have had an insight into the weather!.

The outbound leg through Grindley Brook to the Raven cafe at Prees Heath was mostly uphill but at least there was a slight tail wind to assist us.

The cold getting to my fingers and feet I battled against the wind and rain to finish with my best for this distance (30 miles) of 1hr 21 02, it should have been a 1hr 20 but I made a pigs ear of the roundabout at Grindley Brook taking it too fast and ended up dancing with the bollards in the middle of the road.

It was well worth turning out as I was placed on the result board, coming second on most improved time, recieving a 10 pound prize! I am riding the Wrexham hilly 24 next week over the Horseshoe Pass.
