TLI Primavera Handicap Road Race

The weather played a major part in this years running of the TLI Primavera Handicap Road Race on Anglesey.

The 41.2 mile course around 3 laps of a 13 mile circuit, that was either up hill or down, played out in winds gusting up to gale force 9 (30mph+) saw plenty of retirements (one before the start, eh Charlie). There was still an excellent turnout of competitors in the Deeside Olympic colours who braved the conditions.

Andy Hughes was the best placed Deeside rider coming in 9th, closely followed by Braddy (on his mountain bike) in 11th place. Carl Cliff punctured early on the first lap which realistically ended his race and he later retired. Malcolm Ridgway put in a strong ride in only his second road race finnishing 21st.
