Not so Lumpy Road Race

Me and Andy Windsor rode this race, first off the title is misleading it was a very lumpy circuit which we found out early on. Andy got in the break at the start and I rode across just in time for the first climb. I then spent the next 15 minutes slightly above my lactate threshold I think they call it, whatever it is I was in pain. The break went ballistic until somebody not involved with the race fell down a ditch which resulted in the race getting stopped and the air ambulance coming in to get them out.

We stood round for a while then when the race restarted the break carried on riding hard to the point we built a 5 minute lead. After several attacks and not knowing where the finish was we came into the last 5km all together when the group started splitting up, I was hanging back and waiting as I thought the finish was a couple of miles up this grippy road turns out it was about 100m up the road. As a result I totally messed up the finish but Andy got 5th.
