DEESIDE OLYMPIC VEEBOARD 40 mile TLI Handicap Road Race

Local riders could not believe there eyes when signing on for the annual Easter Deeside Olympic handicap road race.

The sight of Switzerland's world track scratch race champion Franco Marvulli signing on the line soon had some riders shaking in there cycling shoes.

The race set of in four groups, and was all together by the end of the 2nd lap of the four lap race, resulting in a sprint finish fought between 23 riders.

The race was won by Franco Marvulli from Dave McGowen Kirkby CC 2nd and Jeff Vernon Birkenhead North End 3rd.
