Autosave Road Race (Anglesey)

Deeside Olympic riders were in fine form once again this weekend with eight riders from the club travelling to Anglesey to ride in the 102km Autosave Road Race.

Riders representing the club were Steve Lloyd, Anthony Jones, Andy Hughes, Rob Burrows, Ian Edwards, Malcom Ridgway, Paul Crabby and Keith Jones.

The weather was strange for Anglesey, mild with only a light wind to hamper the riders on the 4x14.5 mile circuits.

The race was won in fine style by Steve Lloyd, braking away with seven riders on the third lap of the four lap race. As they came to the sprint Steve was a comfortable and worthy winner.

Keith came in a further 1 min down to take 8th place and the Vets prize, Anthony was the next Deeside rider taking 11th place and first 4th cat. Andy was next Deeside finisher followed by Ian. Rob and Mal got held up in a crash on the second lap and did not finish. Paul Crabby also did not finish but he did pay his club subs before the start.
