Me and Rob Partridge rode this Race on Saturday. Waking up yet again to the sound of rain hammering against the window took the edge of my eagerness to ride.

We both hoped the weather would clear when we got near to the circuit which it did only to start again about 5 seconds into the race. A break of 10 went early on which I got into to but Rob just missed and spent the next few miles trying to get across, even though I sat on waiting the other 9 where going pretty hard which resulted in Rob not getting on. His day got even better when he dropped back to the bunch and one of numerous crashes happened in front of him resulting in a puncture and a ride back to the changing rooms on a flat.

I picked a few primes up on the way and when we hit the last 10 miles I started to attack the group, over next 9 miles the same 3 riders chased me back every time and let 2 others ride off in the last mile to take the win. I came 4th but the 3 who had consistently chased me over the last 10 miles finished behind me, unable to work out there logic I have decided to do my best impression of a bunch engine in any future races I ride against them and tow the whole bunch on to them every time they try and go clear in a race.

As I now have my elite license I don’t think I will race against them much as they are the kind of spineless riders who will only stick their nose out in pan flat non elite races as this one was.

Not that it wound me up or anything!
