Recycling League - Saighton

Sunday 20th March 2005

Most of the clubs 1st and 2nd cats rode the second round of the recycling league on the Saighton course on Sunday.

Simon Oliver had bad luck on the first lap, when the entire break, including Simon crashed out on the greasy 'S' bend by Bruera church. The rest of us then managed to miss the next break and were left chasing the race for the next hour and a half.

Steve Lloyd, Norman and myself end up finishing out of the places in the chasing group and Braddy and John Skates finished safely in the bunch.

In the 3, 4, W, J race David Tate came in 7th overall with a brave sprint in a very hairy bunch gallop for the line. Ian Edwards finished strong in the main bunch given the same time as 10th place. Mark Jones had to retire with breathing problems after a suffering with a cold earlier in the week.

This race was also marred with crashes on the same corner which took the edge of a good race.
