Primavera Road Race

My first road race in well over 20yrs, so had no real expectations - just to get some experience.

Started in the 40's age group and after a couple of turns at the front, noticed a gap. Paul Holt from Wrexham RC came through and set about chasing the 50's group down. After 14 miles, made contact with them only to find out a group had gone up the road for 1min 30.

Decided to wait for the scratch group which Norman pulled through like an express. Several attempts were made by a number of people to get away, with 3 getting a small gap. Somebody jumped across, but I was a bit tired and did not have the jump after the earlier effort. Continued with Norman and Paul Holt who was the last remaing V40. Jumped hard for the finish at 500m for 10th place and 1st V40.
