Monday Night Track League

Monday 21st March 2005

I had gone to the Velodrome for the Monday night Track League with Dan Robinson and Keith Jones. Dan usually competes on a Monday night but due to illness he had to pull out. I had been feeling very bad that day because I had been suffering with a bad cold the week before.

The night started off with a scratch race but I took it easy knowing that I had the course Supremes, the Devil and a 40 lap points race following It. I took second in the Devil behind Tim Rowson (Sheffield Phoenix) who seemed to have the stronger legs on the final lap after we crossed the line beside each over.

In the Course Supremes I finished second again behind Tim who finished with 4pts and myself with 2.5pts. (it was a close race with us both entering the last lap with 2.5points each but he managed to beat me to the line picking up the extra 1.5pts to win the race) In the 40lap points race I finished 3rd behind Tim and Dominic Walsh (Eastland’s Velo) Let’s hope my health will improve soon!
