Recycling RR League Lach Dennis

Myself and Steve Lloyd rode the above event on what turned out to be a cold, wet and windy day!

As soon as the flag dropped Leigh Cowell decided to go for a long one staying out there for a couple of laps before he was joined by myself, Steve, three Leigh Premier lads, Dave Williams and Ben Greenwood. I thought we were working well together but Leigh Cowell thought differently giving us all verbal abuse (we were'nt going fast enough) which as a result ended in the break being bought back (he was right).

Straight away the Recycling guys attacked again with four others and both Steve and I missed the move. With about four laps to go I went away with Lee Feeney and we got to within 15 seconds of the leaders and that was it. Sensing that we were not going to catch them with about 2 miles to go I sat up and returned to the bunch making sure I didn't pick up any BC points (hoping to be a 2nd cat next year!). Steve attacked out of the last corner going for 7th place and by the time we crossed the line he was at the back of the bunch with me!

All in all a disapointing day results wise but a very good workout for the Brenig next week. By the way Leigh Cowell won the race, a small consulation for him as he was left out of the team for the Lincoln GP!!!
